Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the visual and refractive results of cataract surgery in patients undergoing corneal refractive surgery.

Materials and Methods: Twenty-six eyes of 20 patients who underwent corneal refractive surgery due to myopia and myopic astigmatism in our refractive surgery unit between January 2016 and June 2017 were included in the study. In all cases, intraocular lens calculations were performed by using optical biometry device Nidek AL-Scan (Nidek CO., Gamagori, Japan) and Shammas Post-LASIK (PL) formula.

Results: The mean age of the patients was 54.5 ± 9.4 (38-78) years. The mean preoperative spherical equivalent value was -6.9 ± 4.7 diopters and the mean postoperative mean was -0.18 ± 1.4 diopters. The postoperative spherical equivalent was found to be in the range of ± 1 D with a rate of 63.17%. When spherical power alone was evaluated, this rate was% 68.43 in ± 1 D range. There was no difference between preoperative and postoperative cylindrical strength(p: 0.257).

Conclusion: We think that the Shammas PL method can be used in the calculation of intraocular lens as an effective and reliable method in cases who underwent corneal refractive surgery before and have no historical data. Keywords : Refractive surgery, Cataract surgery, Shammas-PL
