Purpose: To compare anterior chamber depth (ACD) in patients with pseudoexfoliation syndrome by using Pentacam-Scheimpfl ug, IOL-Master methods and healthy control subjects.

Material and Methods: Fifty eyes of fifty patients who had been diagnosed with pseudoexfoliation syndrome and 50 healthy control subjects were evaluated at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. All patients underwent complete ophthalmologic examination including measurement of visual acuity, slit-lamp examination, fundoscopy, and intraocular pressure measurement with an applanation tonometer. ACD measurements were obtained by using Pentacam-Scheimpfl ug (Oculus, Germany) and IOL-Master (Carl Zeiss Meditec, Germany). The paired t-test and Pearson correlation analysis were used in statistical analysis.

Results: Average ACD value in PS eyes were 2.57±0.32mm (1.78-3.51) with the Pentacam-Scheimpfl ug topography and 2.82±0.38mm (1.82-3.85) with the IOL-Master. The difference between two methods was statistically signifi cant (p<0.001). The correlation between two methods was high degree (r= 0.671). Average ACD value in healthy control subjects were 2,60±0.31mm (2.04-3.24), with the Pentacam- Scheimpfl ug topography and 2.97±0.38mm (2.01-3.59)with the IOL-Master. The difference between two methods was statistically signifi cant (p<0.001). The correlation between two methods was intermediate degree (r= 0.513). There were no signifi cant differences in ACD measures between PS eyes and healthy control subjects (p=0.126, p=0.296).

Conclusion: Anterior chamber depth measurements with the Pentacam-Scheimpfl ug are more shallow so this technique may be warranting to be aware of the complications that may develop during anterior segment surgery in both groups. Keywords : Pseudoexfoliation, anterior chamber depth, Pentacam-Scheimpfl ug, IOL-Master
