The intraocular pressure (IOP) rise which is presented in some people due to the use of chronic steroid therapy given by systemic, topical and periocular route is referred to as steroid-induced glaucoma.

Risk factors for steroid-induced glaucoma include POAG or a positive family history for POAG, myopia, diabetes and existence of collagen tissue disease. It is generally agreed that the elevation in IOP results from increased resistance to the aqueous outflow. Beside the well known reasons for steroidinduced glaucoma, like topical or systemic steroid use, quite a high number of patients beginned to attend to ophthalmology clinics following intravitreal triamcinalone acetonide injection. Whenever steroid-induced glaucoma is diagnosed, the steroid should be stopped and pressure elevation should be managed with medications or filtration surgery. Keywords : Glaucoma, steroid induced, intravitreal triamcinalone acetonide injection
