Dr. We must be so careful while cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of ophthalmic surgical devices which are considerably sensitive microsurgery instruments with or without lumen. Thorough cleaning is essential before disinfection and sterilization because inorganic and organic materials that remain on the surfaces of instruments interfere with the effectiveness of these processes. While cleaning intraocular surgical instruments quality and volume of water and detergents should be used as specified by manufacturer's directions for use. Also the method for sterilizing and disinfection should be in accordance with the directions for use of the instruments and with the directions for use of the sterilizer manufacturer. The aim of this article is to inform about cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing of ophthalmic surgical devices. Keywords : Ocular surgery, cleaning, disinfection, sterilization
