Cataract Extraction with Fakoemulsification in a Patient with Crouzon Syndrome

Shallow orbita , hypertelorism, exoropia, optic atropy, cataract, glaucoma, aniridia and blue sclera are some of the ocular findings of this syndrome. Phakoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation without any complications was performed in our clinic to a patient with Crouzon syndrome having Grade III nuclear catarct in his lefte eye.
Cataract surgery in a patient with Crouzon syndrome may be challenging because of shallow orbita, high intraocular pressure and deep anterior chamber during the surgery , but given the necessary measures are taken cataract extraction with phakoemulsification is a safe and efficient method in Crouzon syndrome.
