³M.D. Associate Professor, GATA Military Medical Hospital, Department of Ophthalmology, Ankara/TURKEY Anterior capsular phimosis may be seen as one of the complications of continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis during the following six months after cataract surgery, due to metaplastic proliferation of residual anterior lens epithelium cells. Visual impairment can be seen not only because of opacification of media but also because of malposition of intraocular lens. If done early enough, relaxing radial incisions around the margin of the capsulorhexis with neodymium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet laser may alleviate symptoms though in some cases surgeons should remove and replace intraocular lens. We aimed to present our neodymium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet laser anterior capsulotomy results in a case ten years after cataract surgery. Keywords : Capsular contraction, Nd:YAG laser, phimosis
