Innovations in Glaucoma Surgery: Minimally İnvazive Glaucoma Surgery

Numune Training and Research Hospital, Eye Clinic, Ankara/TURKEY Trabeculectomy has been the most common glaucoma surgery method among ophthalmologists. However, together with effective control of intraocular pressure, serious complications are important problem. This reason leads the researchers to new surgical techniques for years. In recent years researches are focused on new techniques and implants. There is an increasing interest for minimal invasive surgery or microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) whose results hace recently started to be discussed. MİGS methods; Canaloplasty and canal expander, Gold micro shunt (Solx), Trabectome (NeoMedix), Excimer laser trabeculotomy, iStent (Glaucos), Hydrus (İvantis), Cypass (Transcend), Xen (Aquesys) and Innfocus microshunt implants will be discussed in the light of current knowledge.
