Traumatic globe rupture usually occurs at its weakest point. Completely healed surgical wound of extracapsular cataract extraction does not have the same strength as the intact globe even decades after the surgery. In this study, a rare case of traumatic globe rupture without conjunctival injury following six years of cataract surgery is presented. This study emphasize that the key point of the surgical technique is “not to open the conjunctiva until the visible scleral wound is closed”. By using this approach normalized intra ocular pressure in this type of injury may be preserved and also more serious complications such as choroidal hemorrhage and detachment may be prevented during the surgical management.
