Purpose: To compare results of Goldmann Applanation Tonometer (GAT), Dynamic Contour Tonometer (DCT) and Ocular Response Analyzer (OCA) in glaucoma patients and to evaluate the effects of corneal biomechanical properties on glaucoma progression.

Materials and Methods: 50 eyes of 50 patients with diagnosis of primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) were included in this retrospectif study. GAT, OCA, Pascal DCT and ultrasonic pachymetry measurements of patients were obtained. Central corneal thickness (CCT), intraocular pressure (IOP), Goldmann-adjusted IOP (IOPg), compensated IOP value (IOPcc), corneal resistance factor (CRF), corneal hysteresis (CH), ocular pulse amplitude (OPA), cup/disc(c/d) ratio and mean deviation (MD) were recorded.

Results: Mean age of 50 patients (30 females/20 males) was 58.8±11.2 years. Pascal DCT, GAT, IOPg and IOPcc were 19.1±3.7 mmHg, 16.5±3.5 mmHg, 17.7±4.2 mmHg and 19.3±3.7 mmHg, respectively. Mean values for OPA, CH, CRF were 3.1±1.1, 8.9±1.8 and 9.6±2.0, respectively. Statistical analysis showed that there was significant negative correlation between OPA and (c/d). Significant negative correlation was determined between CRF and CH and (c/d), (p<0.05, r=-0.492 and r=-0.352, respectively). Significant negative correlation was observed between CRF and KH and MD (p=0.002, r=-0.419 and p=0.005, r=-0.389, respectively).

Conclusion: Lower values of CH, CRF and OPA accompanying to glaucomatous damage make them parameters that should to be considered in diagnosis and follow up of glaucoma patients. Keywords : Goldmann applanation tonometer, dynamic contour tonometer, ocular response analyzer
