Purpose: To evaluate the early visual acuity outcomes of patients with Lentis Mplus LS-313 MF30 and Lentis Mplus Toric LU-313 MF30T Multifocal Intraocular Lens (IOL) Implantation after cataract surgery with phocoemulsification.

Materials and Methods: In this retsospective study, 16 eyes of 8 patients were implanted Lentis Mplus LS-313 MF30 IOLs and 12 eyes of 6 patients were implanted Lentis Mplus Toric LU-313 MF30T IOLs after cataract operation with phacoemulsification. Surgeries were performed for both eyes with one week intervals.Patients' uncorrected distance and near visual acuities(UDVA and UNVA), glare and halo sensitivities, and satisfactions were measured.

Results: The mean age of patients with multifocal IOL group was 62.42±5.5 years (55-68 years), while 61.75±6.12(45-75 years) in multifocal toric IOL group. Follow-up period was 12 months. Mean UDVA was 0.90±0.11(Snellen), (p=0.0001), UNVA (33 cm) J2.00±0.34 (Jaeger), (p=0.0001) in multifocal group and UDVA was 0.87±0.12 (p=0.0001), and UNVA was J1.66±0.22 (p=0.0001) in multifocal toric group respectively. The halo were noted in 3 case in multifocal group, and 4 case in multifocal toric group at first month, however was appeared in 1 patient in both groups at the 6 month visit. The glare formation were noted in 3 case in multifocal group, and 4 case in multifocal toric group in the first postoperative month, however in at 6 month 1 patient in multifocal group complained the glare. When personal satisfaction was asked verbally to patients, no one have any complaints in both groups at postoperative 12 month.

Conclusion: Both types of Lentis multifocal IOL implanted patients after cataract surgery, achieved a good distance and near visual acuity, and reached a high level of satisfaction. Keywords : Multifocal lens, cataract
