Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery

Femtosecond lasers offer surgeons the ability to make very precise cuts in a targeted area without damaging the surrounding tissue. Femtolasers were designed to increase the safety and effectivity of cataract surgeries. In the crystalline lens, femtolasers can create the capsulorhexis and fragmentation with the desired diameter and position. This article outlines the advantages and provides early results of femtosecond laser cataract surgery. Keywords : Femtosecond laser, capsulotomy, fragmentation, cataract
