Iridocorneal endothelial (ICE) syndrome is a rare disease characterised by corneal endothelial abnormality, peripheral anterior synechiae (PAS), iris stromal abnormalities and seconder glaucoma. Corneal edema and glaucoma can cause serious vision loss if those patients are not diagnosed and treated early. Although ICE syndrome has diagnostic criteria, sometimes clinicians can meet difficulties on diagnosis of the ICE syndrome. For diagnostic purposes; gonioscopy, ultrasonic biomiscoscopy and specular microscopy can be used. Gonioscopy can not give enough data about iridocorneal junction, because of glaucoma, corneal edema and peripheral anterior synechiae. Detailed and dynamic evaluations of iridocorneal junction elements can be revealed by ultrasound biomicroscopy. Corneal endothelium can be evaluated with biomicroscopic examination but specular microscopy shows details of endothelial surface.
The aim of this case report is to evaluate the findings of gonioscopy, ultrasound biomicroscopy and specular microscopy on the diagnosis of ICE syndrome.
