A 25-year-old female who was followed up since 2000 after being diagnosed with uveitis underwent Ahmed valve implantation in her left eye for uveitic glaucoma in 2007. During the surgery, less than 2 mm corneal Descemet’s membrane detachment at the side was seen to extend forward towards the central cornea. As the Descemet’s membrane was not steadied by supplying viscoelastics and air into the anterior chamber, 3 single cornea sutures were applied in the first week. After the removal of the corneal sutures in the third month, Descemet’s membrane detachment recurred and the corneal suturing was repeated. The final findings showed that the Descemet’s membrane was steadied by the existing corneal sutures, best corrected visual acuity was 0.1, and intraocular pressure was 10 mmHg without medication in both eyes. Although Descemet’s membrane detachment is a rare complication of Ahmed valve implantation, its potential for occurrence should be taken into consideration. Keywords : Ahmed glaucoma valve, Descemet’s membrane detachment
